The US wants the world's scientists to develop technology to block sunlight as a last-ditch way to halt global warming.

Phew! And here I thought our brilliant idea would involve nuking the fuck out of the Middle East when it's facing the sun, and hopefully the combination of pushing us further out in our orbit and nuclear winter would cool us down a bit. And we could give Halliburton a contract to deal with the cleanup afterwards. Shweet.

But why would we nuke our oil supply? Maybe concussive neutron bombs would work.

In other news, I don't know what my parents do to get this stylish lowest-quality jpeg look. But here are a few more pics from Hawai'i, with people in them.

hah.

We don't know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was us that scorched the sky.

It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun.

What i don't get is that Shrub and his cronies won't admit that global warming is happening; were, in fact, squelching and changing reports from OUR government that say that, yes, we're fucking up the planet big time; were, in fact, trying to pay off scientists to not be so vocal about what they'd found; and were, in fact, muffling the entire scientific community to make sure no one could hear them say that global warming is a reality.

But they want to build these things anyway? Who do they think they're fooling?

no, now the white house press secretary is admitting that global warming is an issue, but not enough to jeopardize the world economy by forcing the US to do anything drastic like mandate co2 regulation or taxation.

better to blot out the sun.

Hey now! Regulation and taxation only hurt big business!

Sun-blotting machines, on the other hand, mean juicy government contracts. Cha-ching! ;)

Not just the sun-blotting itself.

Halliburton Some yet-unnamed government contractor will then be asked to build plants that don't need sunlight, and when that fails and there's mass plant- and animal- extinction, some way to generate food and cycle co2->o2 mechanically.

I'd buy stock now.
